Ms. Laurie Scherer

Hello!

My name is Laurie Scherer and I have been a Professional School Counselor since 2005. I am certified in all grade levels, but have worked at the middle school level the majority of my career.

In 2018, I became a Child Grief Specialist and School Services Coordinator at the Highmark Caring Place, a center for grieving children and their families. I have served many Central Pennsylvania schools pertaining to grief and loss. I returned to school counseling in 2022 in an online setting and enthusiastically joined the Susquenita School Community in the summer of 2024.

I will be the school counselor at Susquenita MS serving students with last names A - K. Please feel free to contact me in regards to your learner's academic, career, and social/emotional needs and I would be happy to assist in however I can!

Mr. Quentin Clingerman

Hello! My name is Quentin Clingerman, and I will be serving as the school counselor at Susquenita Middle School for students with last names L through Z. This is my fourth year at Susquenita School District but my fifth year as a school counselor, having previously spent one year at Carlisle Area School District. I am very excited to work alongside and support your students with their career development, as well as, social, emotional, and academic needs.

I graduated from Messiah University in 2017 with my Bachelors in Psychology and Concentration in Clinical Psychology. In May 2020, I graduated from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania with my Masters in Counseling and Concentration in School Counseling. While in graduate school, I spent a lot of time working in various elementary, middle, and high school counseling settings. In the past, I have worked with Philhaven and their Therapeutic After-School Program for students who are struggling both academically and behaviorally.

I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, listening to music, traveling, hiking, long road trips, and operating attractions at Hersheypark. I currently live in Mechanicsburg with my dog, Molly! I am greatly looking forward to meeting everyone as I continue my journey at Susquenita; therefore, please do not hesitate to come in and say hello!

If you, or your student is expressing suicidal thoughts or has a plan to harm themselves, please take your student to Crisis. The "988" Lifeline provides 24/7, free and confidential support for individuals in distress. Additionally, you may text "HOME" to 741741 to connect with a volunteer Crisis Counselor, though rates do apply.
