Student Assistance Team Uniting Susquenita (STATUS)
The Student Assistance Team (STATUS) is a program designed to help students who are "at risk" for issues involving drugs and alcohol and/or mental health concerns. It is a confidential, systematic process designed to intervene and refer students who are having problems. Referred students and their parents are given free access to appropriate community services in and out of school. The STATUS is made up of specially trained teachers, school counselors, nurses, administrators, a professional from Teen Line, and a professional from Perry Human Services.
Teachers, parents, and students can refer anyone to STATUS. Students can even refer themselves. Essentially, referrals are made when a person is concerned that a student may be "at risk" because of drug and alcohol or mental health issues. Referral forms are available in the guidance office and this page (see below). These forms must be downloaded, completed, and returned to the guidance office. Referrals may also be made by discussing a concern with a STATUS member.
STATUS members work with or "check in" with students through-out the school year to offer support and encouragement.
